Bible Training Yorkshire takes place on Thursdays for three ten-week terms a year.
The training year begins at the end of September and ends in July.
We study two whole Bible books across a term: one from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament. The first session of the morning and afternoon focus on larger sections of a Bible book, working through it from start to finish. Across the course as a whole, we aim to cover all the major biblical genres, on a two year rolling program. The books for 2021/22 are:
- Autumn: Numbers and John
- Spring: Isaiah and Revelation
- Summer: Jonah, Micah, Nahum and Hebrews
Each student joins a talks group, and has the opportunity to give a number of 15 minute talks (or short Bible studies) across the year and receive detailed feedback. These are on shorter selected passages, from sections of the Bible books covered in the main sessions up to that point.
The final session of the day will focus on a variety of topics over the year — such as doctrine, practical ministry, pastoral care or biblical theology.
